KATIE PURCELL – Responsible for the STEPS2 Training Programme.

Katie Purcell trained at London Studio Centre graduating with a BA hons degree. Now working at Swindon Dance as the Education and Development Assistant Manager, Katie is responsible for managing the STEPS2 Programme along with various other projects within the Education Team.

Katie has taught a range of classes at Swindon Dance over the past 12 years including Street Dance, Tap, Jazz and Youth Groups. Katie currently teaches Youth Tap classes for 11-16yrs as part of the Community Dance Programme at Swindon Dance as well as teaching a range of after school and curriculum dance classes as part of the DanceOUT programme to schools in Swindon and Wiltshire.

Katie is also the company manager, rehearsal director and performer of the professional tap company Sole Rebel Tap, performing and touring work throughout England in theatres and festivals.

In 2012 Katie gained the teaching qualification DDTAL (Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning) with Trinity Laban.

SARAH FLETCHER – Coordinator for the STEPS2 Programme & Guest Teacher.

Sarah trained at Swindon Dance CAT and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. After completing an MA with Transitions Dance Company, she became a Freelance Dance Artist. Sarah joined the Swindon Dance team in 2016 working in various roles before joining the Education Team as the Education & Development Coordinator in 2017.

Sarah has taught various classes on the Community Dance Programme as well as the DanceOUT Programme, teaching in Schools and organisations throughout Swindon and Wiltshire.

In 2016 Sarah trained with People Dancing to specialise in dance for Parkinsons and currently teaches in Swindon and Monmouth. In 2018 Sarah developed her training with an introductory course in Dance and Dementia.

Sarah is responsible for Coordinating the STEPS2 Programme and is currently a guest teacher leading Contemporary and Creative sessions for the STEPS2 students.


Zoe trained at Arts Educational London before working as a professional commercial dancer for many years. On returning to Swindon Zoe successfully applied for the role of Dance Development Officer at Swindon Dance.
Many years later Zoe continues to teach a range of classes on the Community Dance Programme at Swindon Dance, including Adult Jazz, STEPS2 and the children’s Ballet Classes.

Zoe is also a leader for the Royal Ballet Primary Steps team and a key member of the DanceOUT team at Swindon Dance teaching in primary and secondary schools across Swindon and Wiltshire.

Zoe is a core teacher on the STEPS2 Programme being an integral part of the team since it began in 2011. Zoe teaches a range of styles on the STEPS2 Programme including Jazz Technique, Ballet, Body Conditioning and limbering.

HELEN GANBERG – Guest Contemporary & Choreography Teacher.

Helen completed her training at The Laban Centre, London furthering her training by undertaking a PGCE at Brighton University and a Certificate in Advanced Professional Studies in Dance from Exeter University. Helen founded Swerve Dance Theatre Company in 2006, who have performed across the South West.

Helen teaches choreography and contemporary technique in a huge variety of community and educational settings. Helen is currently working as the Education and Development Manager at Swindon Dance alongside freelance dance teaching and choreographic roles.

Helen is currently a guest teacher during the Summer Term with the STEPS2 programme leading the students through a choreographic process to devise their performance piece for the end of year.

LUKE ANTYSZ – Guest Contemporary Technique Teacher.

Luke graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2009. During his training he performed in works by Merce Cunningham, Siobhan Davies and Richard Alston, touring London and Europe with LC3 Company. Luke is a dancer, choreographer and teacher with 3rd Stage Dance Company, teaching professional and community classes in Bristol and Bath.

For the company he also leads outreach projects within healthcare and educational settings, and works as a freelance performer for various choreographers. Within the youth dance sector Luke teaches and choreographs for RISE Youth Dance, Newbury Contemporary Youth Dance Company and RUSH – an all-male company based in Berkshire. He is also a lecturer in contemporary technique for Bath Spa University. Luke is passionate about delivering high quality dance training in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Luke has been a guest teacher with STEPS2 for the last 2 years focusing on Contemporary Technique in the first term of the year.
