Activities Overview

We will be hosting a variety of activities in both Central Library and Swindon Dance buildings and you will be able to move freely through the adjoining courtyard. Activities including performances by Vanhulle Dance Theatre, Bharatnatyum, Lindy Hop, Street Jamz, Breakin’ & Street Intro, Jazz Boogie, Yoga, Jazz/Con Fusion, and more. There will also be a Manga Workshop, Zine Workshop, Photo Booth, Story Times, Music Corner, Crafts, and a book giveaway.

Hosted at Central Library (Ground Floor)

Drop in any time between 11a

m – 2pm for free Book Themed Family Crafts and a Children’s Music Corner – with a variety of fun instruments to try. Suitable for all ages. Plus a free book giveaway – with lots of exciting titles to choose from, for children and adults of all reading levels and interests.

Hosted at Swindon Dance (Large Studio)

Join us for Yoga sessions for Adults & Tots, Jazz Boogie for Tots, Breakin’ & Street Intro for Adults, and a special performance by the Vanhulle Dance Theatre.

Hosted at Swindon Dance (Ground Floor Studio)

Here, we will have a series of dance sessions led by Divija Melally, Sarah Josh, and Banxy. For different age groups, Jazz Boogie, Street Jamz and Breakin’.

Hosted at Central Library (Children’s Area)

Three Story Times for parents/carers and their children to enjoy together. One Story Time and Rhyme for pre-schoolers, plus a Story Time for children aged 5-7 and another for 8-10 year olds. All Story Times are free but places must be pre-booked (bookings will open 7 days before the event).

Hosted at Swindon Dance (Theatre)

Join us for Lindy Hop and Jazz/Con Fusion sessions for different age groups led by Zoe Humphries and Vicki Plomer.

Hosted at Central Library (Teen Area, First Floor)

Creative storytelling for 11-16 year olds. Learn the basics in Create a Character Workshop. Bring your character to life in the Manga Workshop. And put it all together into a story with the Zine Workshop.

The event will close at 3:00 after a courtyard performance by Vanhulle Dance Theatre at 2.15 – 2.45.
