Congratulations to DDP Graduate Amanda Isard

Congratulations to Amanda Isard who has recently graduated from the Level 6 Diploma in Dance Pedagogy.

This is what she said  about the course and how it has helped her:

After 20 years of teaching, I applied to join the Level 6 Diploma in Dance Pedagogy course thinking it would help me to progress as a teacher and perhaps give me some new ideas.

The knowledge I ended up gaining has been invaluable. Although I still believe that technique is key in students development I have discovered that there are so many creative methods, ideas and processes to consider, which allow students the autonomy and independence to develop their own skills as well as being taught set, syllabus work. I enjoyed that the course didn’t focus on a specific genre, which in turn allows the development of a variety of teaching theories and methods which can then be applied, both within the private dance or mainstream education sectors.

I am excited that this course will give me options to further develop my career within the education sector by applying for the QTLS or by continuing down the ISTD route studying for Licentiate/Fellowships exams,

Honestly, is was hard work at times but was also so rewarding, the lecturers are inspiring, supportive and knowledgeable and the course will inspire you to be more creative and try new things!
