Swindon Dance online platform is expanding!
Since the Online Platform launched in January, its offering has been steadily growing. Some spectacular artists from professional programmes have been able to present work digitally.
Swindon Dance is pleased to announce that the site will grow in the coming months as the organisation has been awarded funding from the Foyle Foundation, through the Main Grants scheme. With thanks to this funding news our online viewers can expect to see:
- 4 new commissioned works.
- A range of performances.
- Classes and workshops led by Swindon Dance associates. These will be free for all to enjoy.
Viv Slayford, Artist Director: “Creating this online platform was a new challenge for us, however, the initial phase of the platform has seen a great uptake. Receiving a grant from the Foyle Foundation means artists will be able to inspire people in their homes. A new range of workshops will be available at the click of a button.”
Supporting artists to create work digitally is important to Swindon Dance. Artist Richard Chappell, says “Swindon Dance’s Digital Platform has created an innovative and all encompassing way of amplifying artists voices and their practices in digital contexts. The work featured in the platform shows a broad range of how dance can move people online and I’m thrilled that Richard Chappell Dance is featured amongst such talented artists and companies.”
Associate Thomas Page adds, “It is incredible to know that such a fantastic organisation such as Swindon Dance is being supported by the Foyle Foundation. Swindon Dance have been a lifeline for artists like myself.
To partner this wonderful news we are announcing our first online performance from Wayne Parson’s company, Voxed. Voxed’s show Out Late will be available on-demand from Thursday 2nd December.
