Rosie Kay Dance Company seeks Dance Artists for 5 SOLDIERS
The award-winning show and community engagement project 5 SOLDIERS will tour in autumn 2017 and we’re looking for Dance Artists in six locations to create stunning community performance pieces associated to the work. We’re looking for emerging and talented choreographers who will respond to the themes of 5 Soldiers and create a commissioned new work. Commissioned Dance Artists will train with RKDC, receive mentoring from Rosie Kay and have their work presented alongside the theatre production.
Locations: London, Hull, Aldershot, Swindon, Colchester, Birmingham
Hard to Reach groups: we have funding for one Dance Artist in each location to work with hard to reach participants who are least engaged in the arts. Our team will facilitate the creation of the group. Dance Artist fee of £1050 plus travel expenses of up to £250.
Existing groups: we welcome applications to commission an additional Dance Artist in each location who is already funded to work with an existing dance group. You will receive the same training, mentoring and performance opportunity but no fee, a contribution towards travel to the training day may be available. Your group needs to be age 12+ and have less than 30 participants.

Youth Dance Academy – Assistant Administrator
SALARY: £4.05-£7.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
HOURS: 10 hours per week (including 6 hours on Saturdays in term time – 30 weeks)
CONTRACT: 11 month PAYE fixed term contract – role starting w/c 21st August 2017
RESPONSIBLE TO: Youth Dance Academy (YDA), Programme Manager
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Under the direction of the Youth Dance Academy (YDA) Programme Manager, the post holder will be responsible for general administrative tasks supporting the effective delivery of the 3 YDA programmes and recruitment process. The role includes Saturday term time dates to assist the coordinator with the smooth running of the YDA Swindon Contemporary programme (SCP); such as note taking for meetings.
Candidates will be a responsible self-starter with excellent communication and IT skills.
The YDA is one of nine Centres for Advanced Training across the country and offers specialist pre-vocational training for exceptionally talented young dancers aged 11-18. This position is funded through the Department for Education (DfE), Music & Dance Scheme and is dependent on continued funding from the DfE.
