A new training programme for 9-12yr olds
starts September 2011 : Fridays 4.30pm - 6pm in term time
Swindon Dance announces a unique one year training programme for gifted and talented children aged 9–12yrs, called steps2. It starts in September 2011 and will be held on Fridays during term time, from 4.30pm-6pm.
steps2 is supported by The Royal Ballet School Dance Partnership & Access programme and by Swindon Dance's Youth Dance Academy - Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) programme. It provides an integral pathway for aspiring dancers, allowing them to develop their existing skills and natural ability, encouraging potential and preparing them for the next steps.
steps2 is designed to ...
— develop physical confidence and ability
— inspire creativity and musicality
— provide a solid base in ballet technique
— encourage development in contemporary dance
Led by a team of specialist dancer, steps2 includes a weekly ballet technique class, a creative contemporary class and opportunities to perform
To support the individual development of each child, steps2 will provide advice about their next steps, which may include observation of the Youth Dance Academy (CAT) programme and Swindon Youth Dance Company excellence scheme.
Cost ... £100 for the year, payable weekly, monthly or per term
Entry is by audition
NEXT AUDITION ... Friday 1st July 2011, 4.30pm-5.30pm
