A PRODUCING PARTNERSHIP
Swindon Dance, makin projects and hip hop dance artist Banxy joined forces in a unique producing partnership.
The partnership kick started a national autumn 2007 tour of
Busk - Kings of the Sidewalk the first full scale touring show by Swindon Dance
associate artist Banxy and five Swindon-based professional Hip Hop performers.
The triple-bill show, which premièred on October 22nd at the Wyvern Theatre, Swindon, was created and produced in Swindon at Swindon Dance. It marks the coming-of-age of a generation of hip hop dance artists who have literally evolved from a crew of 'Swindon street dancers'.
Banxy and the crew members are recognised as some of the most outstanding performers and teachers on the hip hop scene.
Alongside their performances, crew members led an extensive programme of education work in schools, youth centres and theatres. First-off was a performance project for young people that opened the first show at the Wyvern.
