*****Project Overview: Facility Upgrade for Enhanced User Experience and Environmental Sustainability*****

Our goal is to enhance the facilities at Swindon Dance to better serve our users, improve their overall experience, create a healthier working environment, and significantly reduce our carbon footprint. The project encompasses several key areas:

  1. Changing Room Upgrades:
    • Upgrade six changing rooms to provide modern, functional spaces that meet the diverse needs of our users.
    • Convert a first-floor changing room into an accessible facility, ensuring inclusivity for all individuals.
    • Address the issue of black mold and dampness in lower floor changing rooms, making them safe and usable for students aged 11-19 and young males.
  2. Staircase Improvement:
    • Enhance safety and accessibility by covering the bare concrete stairs leading from the lower floor changing rooms to the dance studio.
  3. Window Upgrades and Insulation:
    • Install secondary double glazing in the dance studio and two offices, taking into account that the windows are part of a listed building.
    • This upgrade will improve insulation, reduce heat loss, and enhance the overall comfort of the spaces while preserving the historical integrity of the building.
  4. Office Renovations:
    • Enhance the working environment by installing new carpets in two offices, providing a fresh and comfortable space for staff.
  5. Environmental Initiatives:
    • Purchase and installation of a water fountain to promote sustainability, reduce heating costs, and lower our carbon footprint.
    • The water fountain will provide a convenient and eco-friendly alternative to bottled water, contributing to improved room temperature and staff morale.
